Hi there! I’m Lexi Vela.

I've been designing and building websites and apps in the tech industry for eight years now. I feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to utilize my passions for technology and design in my career.

I’ve always loved art, and started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil. I loved sharing my drawings with friends, and often would be caught doodling in class. My interest in design and code started in high school, creating custom themes in HTML and CSS for Tumblr blogs. I loved the feeling of creating something out of nothing that anyone in the world could see — I had found my passion!

In college, I majored in Computer Science with a minor in Studio Art. I began working on websites while in school, building out my own dev and design business. Immediately after graduating I started my first full-time job as a Frontend Developer at Shrimpy, a crypto startup. Soon after, I worked as a designer and developer at Onramp, where I would stay for almost 6 years.

At Onramp I had the opportunity to become a hybrid tech and design lead. It was challenging to balance growing as a designer and a developer, but I was fortunate enough to have incredible mentors and my hybrid skillset ended up being a huge strength for creating memorable, striking user experiences.
